What We Believe

GOD: There is one eternal God, the creator and sustainer of the world, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is perfect in character, word and action and He wills to bring all men to Himself through His sovereign plan of redemption. (Gen 1:1-2, Dt 6:4, Ps 18:30, Jn 14:6-20, 2 Thes 2:13)

JESUS: Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, our Savior and Lord, born of a virgin, fully divine and fully man, without sin. He died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, He rose from the dead, winning victory over sin and death, He reigns in heaven with God, having all authority as our king, high priest and mediator until He returns in glory. (Jn 3:16,   1 Cor 15:3-4, 20-28, 2 Cor 5:21, Col 1:15, 2:9-15)

HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the fully divine counselor who draws people to Jesus by illuminating the Word of God and convicting of sin. The Holy Spirit dwells in believers, the church, to empower, gift and transform into fruitful Christian living. (Jn 16:8, Acts 2:38, Rom 8:10-11, 2 Cor 3:17-18)

BIBLE: The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, revealing infallibly all that it affirms. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Tim 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

HUMANITY: Humans, male and female, are created by God, in His image, and are valued and loved by Him. Death entered the world by the sin of the first man and woman and since then, all have sinned and are separated from God without hope, apart from the Savior, Jesus Christ’s, atoning blood. (Gen 1:26-27, Rom 3:23, 5:12, Eph 2:1-5)

MARRIAGE: Marriage is a covenantal union, established by God between a man and a woman, and designed to fulfill the divine purposes of God in their lives. (Mt 19:4-6, Heb 13:4)

SALVATION: The forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life is found in Jesus Christ alone by grace through faith. Active faith is evidenced by believing in Jesus Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and obeying the Word of God. (Acts 16:31, Rom 10:8-9, Gal 2:20, Eph 2:8, James 2:20-26)

BAPTISM: Baptism by immersion is an act of obedience symbolizing our new creation in Christ. It results in salvation, forgiveness of sins, being added to the church, and receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38, 1 Cor 12:12-13, Gal 3:26-29)

CHURCH: The church is the body of Christ on earth, with Jesus Christ as the head. The church is the family of believers, existing to exalt God, to teach the gospel, to make disciples of all people and to do good works. (Eph 2:10, 4:11-13, Col 1:18, 2 Tim 2:)
